About Our Soaps

Black Fern Gifts soaps provide healthy food for your skin with natural ingredients that improve the health and nourishment!

Handmade soap may cost a tiny bit more than commercial products, but the benefits of handmade soap far outweigh the cost difference.

Our soap is handmade from scratch, is always fresh and natural, and once you have tried it you will never go back to commercial soaps and body washes.

Soap making can be laborious, but the research and the formulation of our recipes is fun and adds that above and beyond quality our skin deserves!

Black Fern Gifts uses food grade ingredients in our soaps which makes the earth happy as well.

Our soap leaves your skin supple, soft and squeaky clean and does not strip the moisture from your skin like commercial brands. Cold process soap making retains 100% of natural glycerin which hydrates your skin.

We all know that our skin is the largest organ we have. Whatever we put on our skin gets absorbed and lands in our blood stream. So why put chemicals and preservatives on your skin?

Our fragrances we use, if not using essential oils, are phthalate-free and of the highest quality, infused with essential oils. The company we purchase our fragrance oils from formulate them without phthalates and without ingredients found on California’s Proposition 65 list.

This company also goes a step further by avoiding these 5 major hazard groups:

  • Carcinogens: These are materials known or thought to cause cancer.
  • Mutagens: Materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell causing diseases like cancer.
  • Reproductive Toxins: Toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.
  • Organ Toxins: These are toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organ's.
  • Acute Toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion.

Black Fern Gifts believes that everyone should have access to quality soaps!

Soap Care

  • Store unused soap bars in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight to prolong your soaps life.
  • Handmade soaps do not contain any synthetic hardeners like mass-produced soaps. Due to that, it is important to keep handmade soap as dry as possible between uses to prevent your bar from wasting away.
  • Keep soap on a well drained soap dish or use a soap saver.

Why use a soap saver?

  • Place a bar of soap inside and then use as a wash cloth.
  • A soap saver is great for small pieces of soap so you can use every little bit.
  • Great for handing in the shower!
